Kenneth Amyx 'murders Jennifer Streit-Spears, posts photo on Facebook'

01 Junio 2016

Officer David Tilley, a spokesman for the Plano, Texas Police Department, told ABC News that 45-year-old Kenneth Alan Amyx, the murder suspect, allegedly killed Spears, and then posted a photo of her dead body onto Facebook with a knife wound visible on her neck. "I just started to reach out to our mutual friends to see if they've heard anything", Stamey told KTVT.

Amyx was previously convicted of ongoing sexual abuse of a minor in Rockwall County, as well indecent exposure in Dallas County, according to inmate records.

Facebook initially thought the victim posted the photos.

However, they have now been removed and Streit-Spears' profile turned into a memorial page.

"They do appear as if the photos were taken by him, were posted by him", Officer Tilley said of Amyx.

The grisly photos were accompanied by the caption "Please pray for us and love you all".

"Seeing the photos in my feed early Sunday an hour after he posted them messed with me emotionally", Fletcher told Vocativ over email.

Streit-Spears' sister was not at the apartment complex when the police arrived.

Police said Amyx posted photos of the incident to Spears' Facebook page, including one of his blood-splattered face and another showing Spears' body.

He was booked into jail with a bond set at $600,000.

Neighbor Taylor Dunafan told CBS Dallas/Fort Worth she never noticed anything unusual about the couple.

Jennifer's sister had requested Facebook to take down the images but the social networking giant refused it saying that it did not violate their terms and conditions.

A motive for the homicide remained under investigation.
