Male victim in Mesa shooting stopped truck at scene

01 Junio 2016

The shooting happened Tuesday morning near Loop 202 and McKellips Road.

Wright, 38, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of his 41-year-old wife, Nabash Laverne Wright, and the Good Samaritan in the pickup truck.

According to the document released Wednesday, the male victim's pickup had stopped near where Wright had crashed the couple's SUV in the attempts to kill his wife.

Wright told police he "had been using cocaine for the past week and had limited sleep".

Nabash Wright called a third time at about 3:30 a.m. and told police that she was on Loop 202 with Christopher Wright and that he had a rifle in the vehicle and was threatening to kill her.

Wright then shot his wife and the driver of the truck. He didn't have an attorney who could comment on the allegations when he made an initial court appearance.
