Microsoft in Hot Water over Automatic Windows 10 Updates

30 Junio 2016

Microsoft has accidentally revealed the release date for its upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update through the Microsoft News Center, before swiftly removing the unfinished press release from view.

Microsoft said that the updated version of Windows 10, marking the one-year anniversary of the OS, is the most secure Windows ever.

It also recites the primary features and enhancements to the upcoming Anniversary Update including numerous security items, Windows Ink, a more pervasive Cortana (Windows 10's digital assistant), Edge power efficiencies and extensions, gaming, and more.

In February, the company bundled Windows 10 in with its security updates and made it a "recommended update", which meant it was downloaded automatically and installed unless blocked by the user. However, Microsoft has just listed all the things coming with its latest preview build, and looks like this feature is being put to rest.
