Police investigating assault complaint against former Bills coach Rex Ryan

08 Junio 2017

A Colorado man has filed an assault complaint against former Jets and Bills head coach Rex Ryan following an incident at a Nashville bar over the weekend.

Via the Buffalo News, the alleged victim, 30-year-old Matthew Havel, makes specific accusations against Rex Ryan.

"He alleges that he saw the Ryans in Margaritaville on Broadway, went up to their table, and that after being there for more than an hour, Rex Ryan reached across and grabbed at his neck", Aaron wrote via email.

Havel told police the incident was unprovoked. Rob Ryan is only listed as a witness in the investigation, according to Nashville police.

"We didn't say anything like, 'You guys are bad coaches.' We were sitting there for an hour, hour-and-a-half, talking", Havel said.

Naturally, people may wonder if Havel would have even filed the assault report if the assailant wasn't Rex or Rob Ryan, and we'll never know that. The response, in a word, is heartening. "Then we had pictures of Matthew's championship ring on my wife's hand. You don't let that out of your hand for anybody". However, before they got into that fight, Rex and Rob were apparently hitting on some attractive young women at a bachelorette party.

Of course, both Rex and Rob are married, which means they are in some deep sh*t with their wives. It's not clear what happened in the seconds before the video begins.

Ryan, who was fired by the Bills on Dec. 27, currently works as an NFL analyst for ESPN.
