Mauricio Pochettino suggests Moussa Sissoko could start against Newcastle

Pochettino revealed that he plans to speak to Rose on Saturday, claiming "it will not be a problem", and is certain he will remain at White Hart Lane.

Sanchez, who plays at primarily as a centre back but can also fill in at right back, was Ajax's Player of the Year last season, despite it being his first year at the club.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has accepted Danny Rose's apology for the interview he gave on the eve of the English Premiership soccer season.

"I don't think it's a matter to joke about because with some of the global players, maybe one or two years ago, none of us knew them very well".

But Pochettino said he himself had been considered an unknown when he arrived at Southampton in 2013 and also cited the rises of Spurs pair Eric Dier and Dele Alli and Chelsea's N'Golo Kante.

When you sign players like Eric Dier, who are internationals today, nobody knew him.

Daniel Levy is claimed to be in Amsterdam attempting to seal a deal for the 21-year-old Columbian who has two global caps.

Rose's sentiment has reportedly been backed by other members of the Spurs' squad, who feel that they too should be paid more than Levy's strict wage structure allows.

An injured Rose will not feature in Spurs' Premier League opener against Newcastle on Sunday, but, if Sadlier is to be believed, his ten-year affiliation with the North London club is unlikely to become eleven.

Tottenham have yet to recruit any players this summer but Pochettino reassured fans there will be new arrivals. I don't understand why I have to answer this question because the player has [shown] regret and has apologised for that he said regarding everything.

He told The Sun: "I am not saying buy ten players, I'd love to see two or three - and not players you have to Google and say, 'Who's that?' I mean well-known players". We were focused from the beginning of pre-season to challenge and try again to prepare ourselves to compete in a very tough league. "I don't want to compare us with other clubs who have made signings before us in the previous two seasons and we have finished above them".

"I think the team are very united".
