Amber Alert discontinued for Dallas-area girl

11 Octubre 2017

An Amber Alert has been issued out of the Dallas area for a 3-year old girl believed to be in danger.

A three-year-old Indian girl with developmental issues has been missing in the U.S. state of Texas after her foster father allegedly told her to stand outside alone late in the night as punishment for not finishing her milk, media reports said.

She wasn't reported missing until five hours later at 8:00 a.m., setting off an Amber Alert. She is described by police as having "limited verbal skills" and "developmental issues", according to police and several news reports.

Her father, Wesley Mathews, 37, has been arrested and has been charged with abandoning or endangering a child. He is in jail on a $250,000 bond. She was made to stand by a tree in the backyard of their home at 3 a.m. (4 a.m. EDT), reports suggested, citing police.

The Richardson Police Department are looking for a missing 3-year-old.

As it stands, city, county and state law enforcement are all working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to try and find little Sherin Mathews. She went missing just 15 minutes after her father, Wesley Mathews, told her to stand outside near the tree, which is 100 feet from the family's house, KXAS reported.

If you've seen Sherin Mathews or have any information that could lead authorities to her location, contact either the Richardson Police Department at 1-972-744-4800, 1-800-843-5678 or dial 9-1-1. That's the question we want answered as well. Police arrested her father, Wesley Mathews, on Saturday evening. Plus, they lived near railroad tracks.

'She was last seen wearing a pink top, black pajama bottoms and pink flip flops. Roughly two years ago, she was reportedly adopted from India and was malnourished.
