Real Madrid plan summer spending spree

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is gearing up for his toughest test of the season, with his team set to face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League next week.

Though he is yet to score in this season in the league.

And Pochettino found it difficult to hide his admiration for the Frenchman.

"Madrid have been the best team in the world in the last few years", he told beIN Sports. "They have shown it and sincerely, I have a weakness for Zidane; as a footballer and now, as a coach, too", he said.

The 21-year-old made his senior debut for Spain in Friday's win over Albania, intensifying talk that he could eventually land with one of La Liga's big clubs.

Los Blancos manager Zidane is faced with a selection headache ahead of tomorrow's clash against Getafe, with eight of his first-team stars sidelined.

Formerly Carlo Ancelotti's assistant, Zidane was promoted from his role managing the Castilla side to replace the sacked Rafael Benitez in January 2016.

In the previous campaign Zidane had the luxury of resting Ronaldo on many occasions in the league, but considering their sluggish start to their title defence, the manager might feel hesitant to do that this time out. Bilbao's talented French centre back Aymeric Laporte is also being considered after long-time Madrid servant Pepe departed in the summer.
